Cultivating the WE

2026/ creative workshop with BLC

Is a participatory artistic practice exploring how collective sensing and creative experience can deepen our relationships with place, community and the more-than-human world.

Developed through Sensing the Bioregion with the Bioregional Learning Centre, the practice brought people together through walking, listening, movement, mapping and collective experimentation. Participants were invited to pay attention to their surroundings and to what emerges through being present together, allowing different perceptions and experiences of place to become part of a shared enquiry.

Practices such as dérive, murmuration, psychogeographical mapping and Talking to Systems created different ways of encountering a place: moving without a predetermined destination, listening collectively, responding to environmental systems and exploring the relationships that appear between people and their surroundings.

Cultivating the We considers sensing as a form of participation: a way of recognising ourselves within a wider ecology of relationships and exploring what becomes possible when attention is practised collectively.
